About the research
Planning decisions shape where we live, work, and spend time. But trust in the system is complicated. People often have strong feelings about planning, but our instinctive reactions and our conscious opinions don’t always line up in the way we’d expect.
This research explores that gap. It looks at how gut reactions and conscious opinion interact, whether the trust (or distrust) people feel is actually well-founded, and what it would take to make planning genuinely more trustworthy.
